Bored Piling Equipments are considered a better option than driven piles in some situations. The principle of operation is based on drilling a well into which the concrete mixture is pumped, which together with the reinforcing frame creates a reliable reinforced concrete product. Drilling creates fewer negative moments than piling and eliminates the destruction of buildings located in the work area. It is also applied in difficult geological conditions:
İn lands with significant irrigation,
İn the presence of deep-lying rocks,
Near bodies of water,
On rough terrain,
When the soil feature of the construction site is too soft
Bored piles are used where driven piles cannot be used due to soil or other conditions (on hard clay soils, soils containing rocks near existing buildings and structures, where driven piles are unacceptable due to the high noise level). The production of such piles is as follows:
Drilling a well
Wearing an extended heel
Lowering the protective pipes
Installing reinforcing mesh
Concrete the well
Removing the protective pipes
Bored Piling Equipments installation is possible in a dry method using solutions to protect the well walls from collapse or reinforce them with casing pipes. In all cases, a drilling rig is used, which creates a vertical hole in the ground with a bored pile foundation. The length of such piles can be 49 meters, the diameter is from 0.88 to 3 meters. The stack may have a base with an expansion that provides increased stability.
Drilling rigs create a hole in the ground via a rotating auger string or bucket auger. Equipment for the installation of bored piles differs in price, based on the power of the diesel engine, the type and size of the auger assembly and the magnitude of the torque. It can work in all climatic conditions, that is, it can work in outdoor temperatures between -40 °C and +40 °C. Wind speed is not taken into account.
Bored Piling Equipments are mounted on a special frame next to or behind the main machine and driven from the power plant. Drilling and winch rigs based on crawler tractors can be equipped with hydraulically controlled mounted bulldozer equipment for pre-planning work in drilling and backfilling areas. The main working body of the machines are vane and auger drills equipped with cutters whose cutting edges are hard alloy plates.
Drilling of a well occurs when the drill is informed of both rotational and translational (along the axis) movements as well as an additional pressure force. The rotation speed of the drill can be fixed and variable. The drill is periodically raised to the surface to remove the destroyed soil from the well; soil is scattered away from the well by the rotating blades. The stability of the machines during operation is provided by hydraulically driven outriggers.
The technological cycle for the manufacture of bored piles includes drilling a well hole for a future pile, manufacturing and erecting a pile frame, concreting the wellbore. Protecting the well walls from possible collapse when drilling wells in unstable soils is often accomplished using the casing of pipes that cannot be salvaged or inventory retrieved, as well as excessive mud or water pressure. The most time-consuming and lengthy technological operation is well drilling, which is carried out using special (drilling) machines or attachments mounted on the basis of hydraulic and single-bucket excavators.
For drilling wells with a diameter of 0.36-1.0 m without the use of casing pipes for pile foundations and foundations of buildings and structures, mounted drilling equipment is used on serial hydraulic excavators of the 4th and 5th size groups, which are the main drilling tool. One of them is replaceable auger drills.

The electric drive of bored piling equipments is a geared motor with a two-stage planetary gear. Considering the drilling of wells in a liquid environment, the electric drive is enclosed in a hermetic bell. A bucket drill is attached to the output shaft of the gear motor. The stabilization of the electric drive in the ground and the orientation of the drill to the axis of the well are achieved using a funnel with protrusions for connection with an adapter and a casing tube equipped with two dowels included in the grooves.
